Telegram is where many customers in Central Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe prefer to talk to businesses. They write at night, on weekends and in the middle of your lunch break. A Telegram bot lets you give a clear, instant answer every time, and hand over to a real person only when it matters. Here is how to set one up so it helps instead of annoying people.
A good bot removes repetitive work. It does not pretend to be a human and it does not trap people in endless menus. Use it for:
Open your last 100 chats and count what people ask. Usually ten questions cover most of the traffic. Write a short, friendly answer for each. These are also the base for your saved replies, so the work is reused everywhere.
The first message decides whether people continue. Keep it to three parts: who you are, what you can help with and two to four buttons for the common choices. Avoid long paragraphs. A customer should reach an answer in two taps at most.
Add a clear button such as "Talk to a person". Customers forgive a bot, but they do not forgive being unable to leave it.
Many people ignore buttons and just type. Add keyword rules: if a message contains "price" or "cost", send the price list; if it contains "delivery", send delivery terms. Keep the answers short and end with a question, for example "Which product are you interested in?", so the conversation keeps moving.
If a person will reply only during working hours, say so. A line like "We reply personally between 9:00 and 18:00, here is the quick answer meanwhile" is honest and reduces impatience. Out-of-hours replies are where a bot earns its keep.
A bot works best next to a Telegram channel: the channel brings attention, the bot turns it into conversations. Our Telegram channel guide shows how to grow that audience. And if you also receive messages on Instagram and Facebook, keep everything in one unified inbox so no chat is forgotten.
LevelApp includes a Telegram bot and automation module: you add keyword rules and saved replies, see every Telegram chat in the same inbox as Instagram and Facebook, and take over a conversation with one click. Try it free and let routine questions answer themselves while you focus on the customers who are ready to buy.
